As most of us know, the problem with the press is that the story comes out on page 1 and the retraction a few weeks later comes out on page 38.  Metaphorically speaking, such is the case for 5 men from New Jersey who were never even charged of a crime much less convicted.   It turns out speaking to a woman out of your car window who is trying to get your attention is not a crime, nor is it even morally wrong.  And since that is evidentially all that happened to 5 New Jersey residents, it’s a travesty that their names were leaked to the press.  Retractions certainly don’t hurt, but how much do they really help?
